Growth Removal by Cautery
This is the safest and quickest method for small moles or growths. The area is given a local anesthetic and the growth is cauterized. This procedure provides the best healing and least scarring. However, with this methodology, there is a chance of regrowth over time.
Growth Removal by Excision
For moles that are somewhat larger or may have deeper roots, removal by excision is generally recommended. The area is given a local anesthetic and the growth is removed by surgical excision. This procedure may cause a slight dimple in the skin, which is hardly noticeable.
