Take Your Practice to the Next Level at Victoria Park
Victoria Park’s mission is to help our clients look and feel their best. With that in mind, Victoria Park is hosting a number of seminar series to help you take your practice to the next level in our newly expanded Yoga and Pilates studio.Student Intensive Programs:
A series of four 90-minute, hands-on, seminars delivered in a small-group setting over a four-week period created to set the groundwork for a life-long practice.Yoga BASICS Intensive, lead by Yasmin Gow
Master foundational yoga poses and breathing techniques so you can create a proper base for a profound and injury-free yoga practice, customized for each individual in the group.Each week your practice is built upon with focus on the following Yoga principles spelling out the BASICS acronym – week 1: Breath awareness, week 2: Alignment and anatomy, week 3: Structure and Innergy, week 4: Creativity and Sweet-spot
Ideal student: Tailored to fit each person, Yoga BASICS is designed for students ranging from those with no experience to those who have attended multiple classes but found themselves going through the motions instead of having properly learned the foundational poses.
Next session: Starts this Saturday, September 17th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm and continues on September 24, October 1 and October 15 (skipping a week for a holiday).
Reformer Foundations lead by Angela Kim
Designed to demystify the reformer, the spring-loaded moving pulley-system for practicing Pilates, join Angela to learn the basic exercises and terminology to deepen your understanding and gain the powerful benefits Pilates is known for: namely longer, leaner muscles and a strong core. Upon completion of the workshop, clients can drop-in any reformer/combo classes safely and effectively. Ideal student: The perfect workout for any fitness level. Great for those interested in starting a Pilates practice but have not yet had an introduction to the reformer (or very little experience with it). Also, great as a refresher course for those wanting to get back into Pilates.
Next session: Starting the week of September 19th, choose from three time slots:
- Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 11:30 am,
- Thursdays from 10:00 am to 11:30 am or
- Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Intensive Pricing:
• $99 for Victoria Park Health Club members• $125 for non-members including after-class access to Victoria Park’s athletic training centre and executive locker room with a thermal circuit (steam, sauna, and cold room) for the days of the intensive.
Pilates Teacher Training and Certification
Victoria Park Mat 1 Pilates Certification program lead by master trainer Jennifer Horvath
Renew and reinforce the Pilates method as Joe intended: quality over quantity. Applied throughout our education programs, our intimate teacher course combines traditional Pilates methods with progressive principles that adhere to the PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) standards. Instead of simply teaching a repertoire of exercises, we teach you how to be a teacher, supporting you every step of the way. Our program leads you to become an effective, thoughtful and creative teacher.Designed for: Those interested in becoming a certified Pilates teacher. It is also ideal for an avid Pilates practitioner that wants to know more about Pilates repertoire and philosophy.
Requirements: Minimum of 30 mat hours and 10 private training hours and the completion of a Basic Anatomy and Physiology course. A Basic Anatomy and Physiology course will be offered prior to the certification for those that require it.
